NINETEEN members attended our meeting at Finstall village hall and the meeting was chaired by our president Jill Findon. After our usual rendition of Jerusalem, the minutes of the May meeting were read and members attention drawn to the notices, events and social gatherings. Our speaker for June was ex-police officer George Mills, whose talk on the lighter side of policing' gave many insights on the business of law and order in the recent past and perhaps made us more aware of the greater problems faced by officers in these uncertain times. Our summer outing was due to be held yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon and in the beautiful rose gardens of Tythe Barn house at Chaddesley Corbett. The cost is £4.50 and includes a tea. On July 7 we meet as usual at Finstall village hall at 2.15pm. Our speaker will be Mr SA Alpren, who will talk on antiques and the competition is for a cup and saucer.
