A BROMSGROVE county councillor has been elected as the council’s youngest chairman in history.
Cllr Kyle Daisley has been elected as the new chairman for Worcestershire County Council for the civic year 2023/24.
He has represented the Bromsgrove South division since 2019 and has also been the chairman of the children and families panel and also began leading the scrutiny task group looking into Children’s Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).
Cllr Daisley, chairman of Worcestershire County Council said: “I am honoured to have been elected the chairman of Worcestershire County Council.
“It is a great privilege to be the youngest chairman the county council has ever had.
“I will be focusing on bringing communities together, support for improving mental health and ensuring that young people have a voice in shaping Worcestershire’s future.
“During my year I will be visiting all areas of the county and wish to support community initiatives, events and projects.
“I believe that Worcestershire has a bright future and by working together we can make Worcestershire an even better place to live, work and visit.”
Cllr Daisley will be taking over the role from Cllr Chris Rogers, who was elected chairman in May last year.
Cllr Alan Amos has been appointed vice chairman for the new civic year.
