A THREE-day festival delighted visitors to Brinton Park on the Bank Holiday weekend - however, some felt prices at the event were too expensive.

More than 12,000 people got in the party spirit at the Sausage and Cider Family Festival in Kidderminster.

The free-to-enter event saw a host of food vendors, live music acts and funfair rides fill the park.

Reacting to the event on social media, some felt that the price of food and rides was on the steep side.

We asked our readers on Facebook what they thought of the festival.

Mish Kimani said she "enjoyed it, but it was very pricey," with Steven Roehead describing it was a "bit expensive, but very good."

Lisa Andrews said that "£8 for a hot dog is a bit extreme."

Eamon Doherty said: "Good bit of fun, only down side was everything was quite expensive."

Sharon Such added: "It was fabulous and the warm weather helped, didn't like the cost of ice creams, £4.50 each a bit steep. Hope to see it become a regular event".

Others said the prices were reasonable for a free-entry festival

Janine Calder said: "The atmosphere was lovely.

"It was very well organised, the security staff were friendly and we felt safe.

"The food prices were reasonable (resources, packaging and ingredients have risen exponentially) so are reflected in stall holders prices.

"Well done to the organisers. Glad to see it so well supported".

Roxanne Burns said that for the choice, quality and range of food, she thought it was a "good price".

Mick Seaman added: "Free music, good choice of things and got rib-eye steak and chips for £12 - absolute bargain. Could have taken a picnic and enjoyed the entertainment for free but chose to help small local businesses.

"How people can moan that it was expensive is beyond me".

Organisers of the event, Blue Strawberry Events, declined to comment on the reactions.
